on the topic of raising fry, maybe i could share my experience with raising n. anomala vs. a. "rotopunkt". as i said in a previous post, the rotopunkt bred in a 10 gallon and the fry have grown and bred again although they are stunted (small size). the anomala, on the other hand, bred in a community 55-gallon tank with other catfish and tetras. i had 3 pairs: two females bred, one male was killed by the dominant one and i removed a third pair and gave them to a friend. this was last year. now, the offspring grew and bred again. i must have at least 40 anomala. they are perfectly formed and healthy. as i said, i only gave them flake and no live foods. the difference in the size of the offspring and development between the anomala and the rotopunkt, i believe is due to the larger size of the 55-gallon tank and also its age. being more established, i believe that it has infusoria that fed the fry and allowed them to develop perfectly. tsuh yang chen, new york city ˙˙˙˙ Reminder: Kindly quote parsimoniously when replying ˙˙˙˙This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@aquaria.net.
