I've kept cory's with Apisto's in 10 gallon and larger setups without problewms Had I known there was supposed to be a problem I would have save my cory's from being brutilized by those mean ol' cichlids!!! But actually, I never say a problem--no dings, nicks, gouges or missing parts of fins--but then there are few observations of which cory's have been involved in this 'problem'. But then too, I've had livebearers (goodeids) rule cichlid tanks (African and Central american cichlids) but not the larger guapotes. Who's to say about the behaviour of fish in all circumstances? ---------- From: mengerin@cs.utexas.edu To: petej@wordsanddeeds.com Cc: apisto@aquaria.net Subject: Re: Corys & Apistos Date: Friday, March 07, 1997 3:26PM > >I've read apisto's and cory's are a volatile mix -with the cory's ending > >up floating. Some of the > nastier Apistos such as nijsseni and pandurini might be a problem. I don't know why you've considered njisseni nasty. I've got several wild caught pairs of these fish in with BIVs, E. sexfasciatus, cardinal tetras, otocinclus, and D. filementosus. I've only seen aggression directed at other njisseni and never anything vicious at the other fish.
