That's interesting because I visited a shop here in tokyo specialising
in apistos, and the guy there keeps most of his apistos (many of which
he is raising himself) in mulm + gravel tanks. In stark contrast to his
display tanks which are "Nature Aquarium" style heavily planted, plants
bubbling with oxygen.
