I have used gold tetras, neons, cardinals, and zebra danios as dither
fish. I also have used guppies and the new dwarf blue neon rainbowfish.
None of them seem to bother the apistos, but I have also not allowed the
apistos to raise their own fry in this environment. A consideration,
for people who want to let the apisto parents raise their own fry, is
are the dithers likely to pick off the fry one-by-one.
