this is an embarrassing question, but what is a good way to get rid of
ick?  a lot of books i read say to usemalachite green.  where does one
buy that?

has anyone tried the mardel product, maracide?  i have lost fish due to
using that product which is supposed to be safe.  the fish affected were
usually catfish.  it's embarrassing because ick is supposed to be an easy
disease to cure.

also, one of my betta pugnax (sorry it isn't an apisto) has a strange
disease, where parts of its face around the eye seem to have been eaten
away.  is that a disease?  what causes it and is it contagious?
