Hi all, I had a post a few months back about seeing colour enhancement in nannacara taenia when I added chelated iron for my plants. I don't see a dilemna. Peat does it, iron may well do it too. The fish responded positely to an additive that my tapwater may well have lacked. I believe, because the changes were so immediate, that the colours were brought out by the stimulus of adding iron. several of these fish survived the great Montreal ice-storm blackout, so it didn't seem to weaken or stress them in any way. If you are worrying about adding iron to jump up the colour of your fish, get some plants and add iron to help them grow. Then, any apisto changes become a side-effect of a tried and proven plant-keeping practice... - -Gary >
