Re: A. iniridae

ACAers.........I too got some of the A. uaupesi from the ACA, but one of
the fish WAS. The other one that came with it might be A. iniridae or
A. meinkeni or A. pertensis. Mike (Wise)...or anyone, please jump
in....could you help with the differentiation of those three? I have a
pair of A. meinkeni 'Tefe' from Julio......they are full grown but I
have to tell you guys......I have a tank full (maybe10-12) of
contaminantes that came in as "checkerboards"...the LFS called me and I
got them all and I have been trying to id them for a month. They
certianly look like the A. meinkeni Julio sent me but in looking at ALL
of the pictures in the Linke Staeck and the new Bork....I'm not so sure
of the id's on the pictures because of all of the similiarites. The
story from the ACA and the bag of fish that was brought back to me was
that they were A. uaupesi (from the dealer) but Julio had looked at the
bag and said "He questioned A. uaupesi but didn't know what they
were.". What I'm calling uaupesi looks EXACTLY like pg 103 in linke
Staeck with the yellow and ALL except there is a second faint but very
distinct lateral stripe below the prominant lateral stripe. I understand
that uapesi has that "double"lateral line....true????. If anyone agrees
does anyone have a female A. uaupesi?????? or does anyone want to TRADE
my male for a pair of something......he is gorgeous and right up front
of the tank....he's a "teenager", not an old droopy male and has years
of life in him.

But the big question is the REAL visual difference in A. pertensis,
meinkeni, and iniridae. I need help here folks. By the way does anyone
want 2-3 pair of what ever I have......trade.....no money....I'm easy to
please. Thanks

Mike
