Good question. For what it's worth, I put my powerfilters on one side of
the tank so that there is often current at that end and not much at the
other end. I have noticed that some apistos (reticulosa, Emeralds and
regani) like a little current or at least don't mind it, while the others
will all congregate in the current-free areas. I guess this makes sense if
the ones I listed come from white waters. I don't have any good ideas for
reducing current except making sure there is enough plants, wood, rocks,
caves for the fish to be able get some relief from it.
