Re: A. nijsenni / A. panduro



Hi,
Take a look at Erik's krib web page, he has good id photos 
there.

Males.
Panduro more solid blue colour than nijsseni.  Nijsseni has 
more yellow towards the head end.  Anal fin of panduro is 
blue, more orange/yellow on nijsseni.  A black triangular 
patch is visible going into the tail of panduro but only 
some specimens some of the time.

Females.
Biggest difference is the lack of a caudal spot on panduro. 
Other black markings very variable on both species.  
Nijsseni females should have there gill cover almost 
completely black, some panduro also but some only have a 
slim cheek stripe.  The mid-body blotch is generally bigger 
on nijsseni but then it can be totally missing on some 
specimens.
