They will breed in you community tank, but don't expect very many fry to survive.
I've heard (no personal experience, 'though) that Emperors (Nematobrycon palmeri)
are pretty efficient fry predators, same for your catfishes. I'd place them in a
separate tank - even the 5 gallon one would be OK at their present size. Just
remove the male after the female has spawned and the female shows that she
doesn't want the male around. The Rotpunkt Apisto is one of the easiest apistos
to breed. They don't need any special water conditions as long as the pH is
around 7 and the water is medium hard (~10º dH).
