I use plants in my breeder tanks.  Are most of you?  Plants will during
photosynthesis cause the ph to go somewhat neutral.  You can counter act
this effect by adding CO2 to the water.  Use a yeast reactor on a small
tank.  Check the ph in the evening though the first couple of nights or
right before the lights come on as to much CO2 will cause an acid fall.
