Hi all, I was lucky enough to pick up some A. cruzi a few days ago. I picked up two pairs and I now have a trio ;-( 1 male, 2 females. I am going back to the LFS tonight to see if I can get another male. A few quick questions for those who have kept A. cruzi. 1. Do they breed in pair, trios, or both? 2. According to Mayland and Bork their natural water is not all that soft and around neutral ph. What water conditions have you bred them in? Mayland and Bork also state the A. cruzi is amoung the easier to breed, do you agree? While I was picking these up there was a tank of fish called 'Broken Line Tetra'. They were very striking and seemed to inhabit the upper 2/3 of the tank. I searched altavista and found one hit with 'broken line tetra'. I clicked to that page (http://www.geocities.com/WestHollywood/Castro/2147/fish.html) and it has the right (poor quality) picture but the wrong specific name (Hemigrammus caudovittatus). Since the picture is not too good the fish has a black stripe along the lateral line. On top of the black stripe is an irridesent yellow/green stripe. The dorsal fine is yellow and the adapose (sp?) fin is red. Does anyone have information about these fish? Lastly, I bought a flouresent light fixture at Home Depot to try to grow some plants in my 20gallon tank. I also picked up a cord that has a 3 prong wall connector on one end and bare wires on the other. I was looking at the wiring diagrams on the fixture and on thekrib, I guess I dont have to wire the ground? There are only two wires coming out of the ballast anyway. I just moved into a new place, I don't want to burn it down yet! Thanks in advance. Paul _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
