Can you find out precisely where these fish were collected on the upper Orinoco? Is the caudal peduncle patch more of a band, like in A. sp. Orangesaum, or more oval (American football) shaped like in A. sp. Vierstreifen? > Kinda like A. four stripes only different. A fused fin has the lappets (fleshy membrane) growing together without any saw toothed indentations in the fin. A. borellii, A. pertensis and its relatives show this best in their sailfins. Your fish may be young pertensis-group fish that haven't developed their sailfin yet or, hopefully, are A. sp. Orangesaum/Minima/Weißsaum. Good luck with them and let us know if you get them breeding Mike Wise > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@majordomo.pobox.com. > For instructions on how to subscribe or unsubscribe or get help, > email apisto-request@majordomo.pobox.com. > Search http://altavista.digital.com for "Apistogramma Mailing List Archives"! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@majordomo.pobox.com.
