I have a lot of short fore-ground plants in my tank -near their spawning rock. They spend a lot of time tearing at them to clear a space around the eggs-. Once the eggs hatch they then dig up anything that is in the way of 5-6 nests for the alevins. It is a bit a pain, because I have to replant a bunch of short rooted plants each time they do this- and I don't like having to stick my arms in the water all the time because it stresses the other fish- Oh well, I will just have to live with it because I like the plant arrangment the way it is!
