If you really want "spawning pairs" you should go ahead and just purchase a half dozen youngsters of sexable size from one of the more reputable breeders around. I have heard good things about several. (All feel free to correct me) Most apistos once they are of sexable age will start breeding. some can be surpassingly young (pers obsv). as far as pair formation, depending on species, it isn't as important as conditioning and environment i.e. give them the right water conditions, tank decor, tankmates, feed well and watch closely it's a wonderful sight. Unlike many of your larger more aggressive cichlids you'll find that Pairing is much less important and even less desirable given that most dwarf cichlids don't have a long life span. Any "spawning pairs" that you find will probably be near the end of their life. so in my humble opinion it would be much more productive/interesting/faster/easier to roll your own. -----Original Message----- From: David Sanchez [mailto:barbax2@yahoo.com] Sent: Friday, April 09, 1999 1:16 PM To: apisto@admin.listbox.com Subject: Re: Available spawning pairs?
