Well, the male seems to have gotten over whatever he was 'under'. He is now back in full color, displaying to the female. She is not in her pretty yellow and black dress, but her color is coming back. However, it is now her that isn't interested in spawning. I'll keep feeding them some good quality food, maybe go collect some Daphnia later this week (no more snow and ice!). The male is still *sharing* his pot with the pleco, even though I have added two more. We'll see how it goes.
