Daniel, My fry rearing tanks have sand substrate, sponge filter(s), Java Moss and or Fern. Initially the fry are in a tank 12inx8inx8in or 18inx18inx8in tall, water changes alternate days. When they are noticably bigger they are then moved into possibly 24inx12x18in tall or a 36inch tank. I also add apple snails to my rearing tanks, they are great at cleaning any uneaten foods. Don't worry about your tank being in busy area of the kitchen, your fish will very soon get used to the outside activity and will be begging at the front of the tank for food. I have no doubts you want the best for the fry, you have done well in breeding Borellii. As long as you keep up the maintenance in the tank, feed little and often, your fry should do very well.
