Apisto "rotkeil" (red-wedge) fry

I have a pair of A. rotkeil that have bred in a ten gallon heavily
planted tank. The fry are free swimming and seem to have absorbed their
egg sacs already. The tank also contains several serpae tetras that seem
to remain in the top third of the tank and away from where the mom is
tending the fry. I know that these guys (the tetras) can be a bit nippy
(and quick) and are not the ideal tnak mates (ie., dither fish) for
apistos. However, I have been told that with the red wedge, which are
aggressive defenders of the young and a bit larger than most other
apistos, the serpae tetras will not cause a problem. Any thoughts on
this? The mom apisto certainly seems an aggressive defender. There is
also a siamese algae eater in the tank who is now being a bit harassed
by both mom and pop rotkeil, so I may remove it. I'd love any feedback.
thanks.

Just want to add that the color of the female apisto is quite striking
now, a yellowy almost metallic color. What a beauty!
