Good Morning, I am sitting here in the Washington State Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) conference, held in Vancouver, WA, but, I wanted to send out a quick note to you all. First, Thank you all for covering the Plant Auction while I have been away. What a relief it was for me to have all of you to help out with this effort. YOU ALL deserve a huge round of applause for the FANTASTIC job you did on this year's Plant Auction. I have gotten numerous emails providing nothing but excellent comments on the Auction!!! Perhaps, I should arrange to be away for all the Auctions......~~laughing~~.....okay, I am kidding about being away......I really, truely missed not being there. Second, I would like to welcome Bob into his new Volunteer position and thank him for volunteering for this effort. I hope that we all let Bob know how much we appreciate his help and how important his help is to the survival of the Society. Thank you Bob for helping us all!!! Third, I would like to ask if anyone has volunteered to supply a location for the next Board Meeting? If not, is there someone that would like to volunteer their residence for our next Board Meeting? Please let me know ASAP. Thank you ALL again and I shall be back in town by Monday 2-18-02. I am available by email prior to that date if you would like to email me. For the relative new folk on the list, Bob was on the board the whole time I was president, is a professional cartographer for AT&T Wireless, and has lots of technical know-how. His wife Anne drew a series of great covers for the magazine, which I'd put up there as some of the best we've ever had (including the nifty line art from the 70's). - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2002 15:18:51 -0800 From: "Frangooles, Bob" <bob.frangooles@attws.com> To: "Erik Olson (Personal - Erik@home)" <erik@thekrib.com> Subject: Newsletter I am interested in editing the newsletter. I would be willing to commit to a year, and re-assess at that point. The only drawback being that I would not be able to commit to regular attendance at board and general meetings, it is just too difficult at this point.
