Perhaps this is a foolish question. But, does the T-shirt design have
to have the club logo on it as we use it today? Seems we have had
shirts in the past that did not necessarily have the club logo on it.
Seems I have seen a similar approach to T-shirts from a number of
clubs....sure, they usually put the Club Name on the shirts....but, not
always the club logo.
Precisely. The last club shirts we ran for GSAS had a large Corydorus
catfish on them. I don't *think* they had the logo, and if they did, it
would have been a small "pocket-size" one. GPAS's shirts never feature
their logo, because it's not real fun on a shirt. Most ACA shirts I've
seen don't have their logo either.
The nice thing about having an original design for each shirt (and keeping
the print run small as you are doing) is that when you sell out of one,
you can do it all over again with a new design, and members will gladly
buy the new shirts. Clay and Dave I'm sure remember the REALLY old GSAS
shirts that did feature nothing but the lionfish "logo". Took us forever
to clear those shirts out, and I don't think we actually DID sell them
all.
Do all clubs have a logo?
Most do, and most suffer from one or more of the problems I noted in the
earlier e-mail: too complex, too many colors, no identity, or in some
cases, too amateurish.
