Rick and the rest of the board made decisions about the t-shirt idea, which I brought forth, when I was missing from next meeting. Apparently they would like the GSAS Logo on the front of the shirt with "Greater Seattle Aquarium Society" in the gradually indented Nadianne font, on the shirt pocket, which will cost an addition $1.75 per shirt. I thought it would be a good idea to have the rest of the club vote on what they would like for the shirt, but that idea was also shot down, since that would be too much effort. Humm. Well, I would have been willing to make a few different displays of t-shirt variations, since I had already done them on the computer, and printing it out, and making copies at Kinko's or wherever didn't seem like such a difficult chore for me to do. I don't like the logo enough to be wearing it. Using a seam ripper to remove the pocket would be an option if it were NOT a knit fabric. Now, I am getting sick of this whole discussion. Since everyone is so unwilling to let me get in front of the room for once, and ask the members how they feel about having a logo contest, or voting on style of t-shirt, then that is just really unfair to EVERYONE in club, not just to me. I am tired of whining about this, and being sniped at. I'm not going to read anymore rude emails. Precisely. The last club shirts we ran for GSAS had a large Corydorus catfish on them. I don't *think* they had the logo, and if they did, it would have been a small "pocket-size" one. GPAS's shirts never feature their logo, because it's not real fun on a shirt. Most ACA shirts I've seen don't have their logo either. The nice thing about having an original design for each shirt (and keeping the print run small as you are doing) is that when you sell out of one, you can do it all over again with a new design, and members will gladly buy the new shirts. Clay and Dave I'm sure remember the REALLY old GSAS shirts that did feature nothing but the lionfish "logo". Took us forever to clear those shirts out, and I don't think we actually DID sell them all. > Do all clubs have a logo? Most do, and most suffer from one or more of the problems I noted in the earlier e-mail: too complex, too many colors, no identity, or in some cases, too amateurish. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com _______________________________________________ GSAS-board mailing list GSAS-board@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-board _______________________________________________ GSAS-board mailing list GSAS-board@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-board
