Re: [GSAS-board] November speaker needed

Dear Paul et al --

I'd say yes, to inviting Steve of the Wet Spot.

Other ideas:
  1. Having a fish store owner talk about the ins and outs of the fish store trade. What induced him/her to get into this business? What has the owner learned about hobbyists that he/she did not realize before? What are the five biggest lessons he'd like freshwater fish, saltwater, and planted aquarium hobbists to grasp? What are the major upcoming changes in the industry which are affecting the local fish store? and so on.
  2. Maybe Roy and Eric doing a joint thing on getting vigorous growth plus visual appeal with planted aquaria. Or maybe focusing on a non-Crypts group of plants. Mosses, in advance of the holidays? The wonderful world of hygros?
  3. Octopus husbandry, from a Seattle Aquarium person.

I am still looking for a speaker for November.  Laurence is in Japan and Erik Do  (shrimp) is not replying to email requests.  Should we invite Steve of the Wet Spot?
