Re: [GSAS-board] Speaking of SPU and meeting locations...

May I throw out a thought here...

Former GSAS President, Bob Holmes (who I think is still a member of this
list) was the one holding the torch when the Seattle Aquarium doubled our
rent with very little advance notice. Bob worked VERY hard searching for an
alternate meeting location that would meet our needs; and with the help,
support, and concurrence of the then-Board settled on SPU as our best option
at the time. That's not to say that a better solution can't be found today,
if that's what the club desires; but at the time Bob did an exhaustive
search, his efforts were MUCH appreciated, and I've not forgotten it.

Thanks,
Rick

Phil:

I propose that the move be discussed at the board meeting and this will HAVE
to be a group decision. It would be great that you take the lead, but the
responsibility is on the board so that no one person takes the blame for
failures at the new site or bitter disappointment if we do not rush into
this RIGHT NOW.

I will be looking through the list I sent to find a reasonable place at the
right location/price. At the moment some of the schools are looking really
good IMHO.
