Re: Mosquito Rafts

I read on another list that this was successful. The little @#!)(%*'s survive the winter outdoors in Minnesota... hey, how soon til someone sells them on aquabid? Anyone want to bet? :) I finally had Brian Perkins show me what they looked like and hatched a few in a cup, my fish rewarded me with tons of eggs. So now what I want to know is what is the irregular patch of black dot type egg raft, and what is the cone shaped egg case in my cultures? Guess it's time to break out a few jars and a microscope... I do have both bloodworms and mosquitoes going full blast here and nothing pleases me more than to capture and sentence them to death by killifish.

I think I heard somewhere that you could freeze them, but I don't know if
that would really work.
I'm going to collect some egg rafts today so I'll try it out.

P.S. I got some pictures of the egg rafts here:

Steev,

A few months ago, we were talking about scooping the mosquito egg rafts
