Otto cats, plant-safe plecos, and apple snails. The bleach only works temporarily. I have ordered apple snails from Susan at http://home.mchsi.com/~masts/index.html and been very happy with what she ships. The snails are smaller than you might think, about the size of a hazelnut, but they are doing a good job so far for their size. The rainbows leave them alone. I think the loaches might snack on a Malaysian trumpet snail from time to time, but other than that their population seems stable, too. I have a clown pleco and rubber pleco, so far they are staying small and not damaging the plants at all. I only see them occasionally in the early morning; they hide the rest of the time. Most stores regularly stock otto cats, and while the specific pleco varieties might take a few trips or calls, they're pretty easy to find, too. Good luck! -----Original Message----- From: gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com [mailto:gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com] On Behalf Of welenofsky@comcast.net Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 6:57 AM To: GSAS Member Subject: [GSAS-Member] Algae control Since the plant auction, I've had all different types of algae plaguing my tank. What kinds of fish besides SAE will help control it?
