Otto cats, plant-safe plecos, and apple snails. The bleach only works
temporarily.
I have ordered apple snails from Susan at
http://home.mchsi.com/~masts/index.html and been very happy with what she
ships.
The snails are smaller than you might think, about the size of a hazelnut,
but
they are doing a good job so far for their size. The rainbows leave them
alone.
I think the loaches might snack on a Malaysian trumpet snail from time to
time,
but other than that their population seems stable, too.
I have a clown pleco and rubber pleco, so far they are staying small and
not
damaging the plants at all. I only see them occasionally in the early
morning;
they hide the rest of the time.
Most stores regularly stock otto cats, and while the specific pleco
varieties
might take a few trips or calls, they're pretty easy to find, too.
Good luck!

Since the plant auction, I've had all different types of algae plaguing my
tank.
What kinds of fish besides SAE will help control it? (snip)
