Susan: Thank you for your entry. As I am not personally familiar with the fish you posted could you please make an initial guess at class/points? (Guidelines at http://www.gsas.org/Articles/bap.html) If anyone thinks a fish is in the wrong class (or unlisted) feel free to comment. I will count your post as the third received although it looks like Betty might relinquish her spot. The bright red Ludwigia from the meeting is most likely L. palustris (Kasselmann) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/blueram/redplant1.jpg which will be part of that package with repens X arcuata (fine leaved red tint) and palustris X repens ("normal" red tint). I am also offering Deb a stem of Ammannia gracilis (African hydro) but would not be out of place in the above package. Next HAP post (Anita might get first choice) gets the above or the grasses of Vallisneria americana (jungle val), Sagittaria subulata (dwarf sag my foot!), and Echinodorus tenellus (chain sword) and what ever else I can find that is "grassy." So even if one does not "win" one of the packages post anyways. My tank is almost always full of clippings that are not good enough to sell but make excellent starter cultures for a hobbyist. We have several great stores in the area that do a great job selling plants and deserve our support so be sure visit them too lest we have no more. And since this is the post that never ends, I would like to than Steev for the great newsletter that came today. Keep up the good work. -Paul Hi Paul: I have bred: African cichlids: Electric yellow cichlids - Labidochromis caeruleus Neolamprologus pulcher - "Daffodil Brichardi" Placidochromis "electra" Aulocara "Rubin Red" (Clay says "Eureka Yellow") F1 Killifish Kate's "Barbie killi" (A. striatum) A. gardneri (2 large off-spring) Heterandria formosa (like rabbits) Susan -----Original Message----- From: gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com [mailto:gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com] On Behalf Of Paul M. Email me off list with tank specs and I will try to put together a reasonable plant package of clippings. This is up for debate, but I read your points as Class A: guppies - 5 swordtails - 5 Tanichthyes (White Clouds) - 5 Class B: Angels - 10 Total - 25 This means you have reached the novice level and have an award coming to you! Furthermore, the rules state "Points will be awarded only once for each species or color form spawned." So if you can list the species or color variant I will give move points. Next 2 people to post win a large bag of clippings from my tanks! -PaulOK, Paul, I'll take you up on that (though currently my list is small, I hope that will change soon!) Class A: Livebearers (guppies, swordtails) - 5 Tanichthyes (White Clouds) - 5 Class B: Angels - 10 Total - 20 Now to figure out how to fit more tanks into my (small) bedroom so I can try my hand at breeding different fish. Hope to see you at the meeting next week!
