prussic acid. Whatever it is, it is bad news. 

Diamond kosher salt is 100% pure salt, last time I bought it. Morton's 
Canning and Pickling Salt is the same, though it is fine grains instead 
of the big kosher salt flakes. 

(I had to learn all this some years ago when I treated an ich outbreak.)
