I seem to have had my Amano Shrimp for four years now. She's pretty big and also gets loaded with eggs. I added a much smaller male a few months ago, and ever since then, the two females have been gluing eggs on their flippers. susan -----Original Message----- From: gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com [mailto:gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com] On Behalf Of Betty Goetz Sent: Tuesday, October 09, 2007 2:45 PM To: gsas-member@thekrib.com Subject: Re: [GSAS-Member] Fish for Hair Algae I tend to agree. I've only got 1 pair of Amanos that have been going pretty strong for years. Although the female gets all loaded up with eggs, nothing else happens, i.e. no babies. But they are in a tank with fish, so I don't expect survivors even IF the naupli developed in the salt-free tank. I thought they only lived 18 months or so (scratching head). It's gotta be 3-4 years now since I picked them up. Anyway, they seem to keep a 10 gallon tank spiffed up but the red cherries seem to do better, and breed at the same time (if it's a tank with no predators).
