Hi Linda, back when I had a larger house and was able to have more tanks I 
kept both angels and discus.  I started off keeping them separate, but then 
started mixing some of the young angels I bred with some discus.  I made a 
point to hand feed my discus blood worms and brine shrimp daily, so that I 
knew how much each one was eating.  This made it impossible for the angels 
to steal the discus' food.
