Re: [GSAS-Member] This is for Jay(got some questions)

  Hi Jay,

I am glad that you saw my post. And I appreciate the bucket deal and all the
ID of the fish since I am not good at identify them. And some of the fish can
be tough to figure out. Now I can either rehome or try to get the bigger group
for the Tetra and Rasbora .,etc.
And I thought the Krib is female since I saw the pinkish tummy but you
think(or know) it is he? What do I know, I never kept them before.

And about the Corys and Loaches. I'm sure more space and hiding spots would
help. And the light stocked tank for more rooms.
But I do have more fish than optimal stocking level most of the time.
Especially when it comes to Corys. So I decide to play it safe and not get any
loaches so far. Although it crossed my mind more than few occasion. Like when
I see the million snails or come across the good deal at auction.,etc.
It usually not recommended at the corydoras forum to combine the two. I read
enough times that people talked about the loaches can get more aggressive when
they get bigger and older. And they tend to out compete the Corys for the
food. Anyway, I'm sure there is always some exception. Also the species, the
fish size and tank size.,etc would create the variation.

  And Susan,

I am sure 100G with few of each does not cause much problem. But it may
cause problem when they are in less space.
BTW, I think I mentioned this before but some reason I never get the
notification of your post in my e-mail, it is weird. So that is why I didn't
responded to your post.

I've also kept shoals of cories (C. sterbai, C. arcuatus and others) with Botia
and Schistura loaches in 29 and 33-long tanks, and they shared the bottom with
no problems. I'm sure it helps that my loaches are not large and that I have
plenty of little hiding places (rocks, flowerpots, plants) for the loaches. I
hear some loaches can be territorial, in the sense that they'll fight over the
best hideouts in the tank if there aren't enough to go around.
