I have had koi in an indoor aquarium for about 10 years now: http://kangar.eu/dpp.php . They grow fast, so I typically raise them until they are too big and aggressive, and then give them away to good homes, members of the koi clubs, parks dept, etc. Recently I moved away from koi altogether, as they love to dig and you cant prevent it (so good luck keeping plants growing quicker than they can eat/dig them). Im pretty happy now with my school of 50 tetras.
