Re: [GSAS-Member] Koi in an Aquarium?

Yep, I have seen them around too; most shops have them SOMEWHERE in a tank,
and for much less than the $50 a head the Tosai are going for. Dont forget
though to look for the whiskers; I have wondered more than once if what are
labeled as koi are in fact koi at all at some of these places though. Koi
have those distinct little whiskers. That being said though, my fry are
still not big enough that I can see the whiskers.

B&D always seems to have some, where Steev works that is, since some of his
fry end up in a sales tank on a regular basis.

BUT, I double Bettys comment; just wait until the meeting! I know not
everyone wants to keep all the baby koi theyve got...

Cheers,
Connie

I haven't been there for a while but Midway Tropical Fish has a great
selection during the summer months. I don't remember when they shut down
their outside operation, so call first.

I would like to get into a pair of starter koi for under maybe $30 each. Is
that possible? The two places I have been didn't have anything under $200.
I'm not looking for wam bam show koi. Just something pretty to learn more
about them and have them in my home. I'd raise them from fry is anyone in
the club has fry left. I was a bit late to the fry grow out fun.

Thanks
Shango
