Bulb is less than a year, but has to be at least 7 months old. I wish I
could remember the exact type of bulb, but whatever 6500k is about 50-60
more. The last one worked fine, though I threw that one away after a year,
but when I bought it I thought a 5500k would work.
It did not work well for my waterplants, but the 6500k worked great. It's a
round pendant though (my tank was round). Not sure how well it works in a
typical rectangular aquarium. The light probably is under some type of
warantee I would think, but I keep all my receipts in a safety depo box up
at my local bank.
