I am just speaking from my experience. I was able to neglect the tank when
it had a lot of foliage in it just like Cliff. One day I had the bright idea
to thin it out so I could see the shrimp better. I think that the upset in
the balance in the tank. So disturbance in the tank + plus lack of plants to
process the excess nitrates + neglect = fatal combination :(
