I had fun at the auction. I was impressed by the efficiency of the way it was run, and by the spread of stuff, much of which I didn't recognize. I was there for one reason, to snag those curviceps. When I set up the 26 gallon, I wanted a low tech planted tank with a breeding pair of dwarf cichlids. Over the last 6 months or so, I've set up the tank, got it planted, cycled it with penguin tetras with a jumpstart from the other tank, and it got pretty settled in. I added a pair of American Flag fish to control hair algae, and they had a few months to breed in the tank (which they didn't take me up on) while I kept an eye out at the Fish store for curviceps or dorisigers. I considered getting some dorsigers from apistodave, and was tempted by his I. adoketa, and also was tempted to go african with some P. tenacious the Fish Store had. But I'm glad I waited. The next morning, the Curviceps were out harassing the penguins, the J. floridae were a little spooked, and it seemed like the curviceps had staked out the little flowerpot cave and moved some sand around. it also seems like they're digging out under the driftwood. I think the nerite snails are endangered, the way the curviceps are paying them attention, but life is tough. Anyhow, I'm pleased. Thanks to whoever brought them. _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
