Just returned from said "worst run national association"'s big convention
this weekend... the theme was "Fish Wars - the Hybrid Menace". Beyond the
one-line flowerhorn jokes, several speakers brought up the same issue
repeatedly, over and over again, that cichlid hobbyists, breeders,
importers, etc, need to start identifying the fish with collecting
location. Species maintenance programs are useless without proper
attention to this detail. I may try to edit together a small video for
a club meeting this fall summarizing the good points.
