> Kribs (i find i have breeding problems, female puts a pounding on the > male.) I'm breeding kribs as a hobby and currently have 5 batches of fry at various stages of development (maybe 180 total). My youngest pair just had their first set out of the cave today! I've been successful keeping the breeding pairs each in a 10 gallon tank with a fair amount of cover. I put 2-3 caves and some plants (typically fake) arranged around the tank so as to make sure there is no straight line-of-sight between any 2 cave entrances. In general, I've seen the parents be quite cooperative and coexist nicely, but I've occasionally seen one or the other decide that the other parent is a threat and insist they not be near the fry. In these situations, the other caves/plants provide good protection and keep everyone calmer. It's been a while since I kept more aggressive (Malawan, Tanganyikan) cichlids, although, again, with lots of cover and very few straight lines of sight, I didn't have too much hostility in the tanks. I was able to get the following to coexist in a 30 gallon tank (lots and lots of cover!) Demasoni Mbuna Auratus Johanni Obviously, as always, "YMMV" _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
