Hmmm, it seems that some people are picturing James as an evil tyrant.... I have an opinion on this as well. James and I have disagreed on a few things over the past week. I questioned the involvement of the AGA. Heck, I questioned whether or not there even *is* an AGA. Since that time, however, I've decided that whether or not the AGA adds anything to this contest (I still am not sure if they can), this contest will benefit our hobby. The AGA is the only organization of it's kind in North America(that I know of) and this may be just the thing to turn the AGA into a club worth joining. If any of you can think of another appropriate organization(that has a treasury and a bookkeeper) that might be able to provide the same benefits to our hobby, then, even if James doesn't want to hear about it, I would like to. I couldn't think of any, and since I couldn't provide an alternative to teaming up with the AGA on this thing, I shut the hell up. I know you have intimidated me,what with one of your very early responses to a fellow from calif.,then your blasting of dave gomberg, then your flipent "good-bye Rodger" comment. When I joined this list,I did not realise that I was possibly going to be smacked on the hand by the teacher,I've had very little to say for this very reason!>>> Waaahhh, if you're not mature enough to handle blunt statements and somebody else's sense of humor, then I'm not going to miss you, and I would hope that nobody else will either. Organizing things are difficult enough when everyones in the same room. Do you think it gets easier when it's being done via email, when you can't hear someone's tone of voice or see their facial expression? If you can't present alternatives to any of the ideas you don't like, then shut the hell up! (or offer an apology when you say you don't like an idea but don't have an alternative.) This contest will go nowhere if trivial things like this continue to plague us. I hope that this is the last of these type of comments.
