Agreed.  I found this highly annoying when a club sent me a multi-meg PDF 
unsolicited last fall.

PS: Add my name to the list of people who can create PDF's.  The free
program Ghostscript will convert postscript files to PDFs fairly easily
(and you can create a Postscript file by installing any postscript printer
and printing to a file).
