Okay. How about "Buy both and get two Aqua Journals FREE!"
Excellent! Hmm, on second thought, there's a snag. This could only work for US, because it would have to go Media Mail. Part of the DVD's lower price is that I can send it out for $1.06 and in a cheap envelope with bubble wrap inside. So unless the AquaJournals were used AS the padding material, we'd have to send them in more complicated or expensive padding.
The ADA deal is a good thing. The conversation about flyers to go with them sort of petered out and then my computer blew up. Then there's a guy in Singapore who wants to promote them over there. But I wasn't certain about the legalities of doing that. What exactly was the agreement with Amano about using the convention talks?
OK, here's how the ADA deal ended up.They don't want the other talks. They just want Amano's presentations. They're planning on making their own DVD, along with stuff from his Amazon book. I spent many hours last week recapturing the 10 hours of footage and spitting out a set of digital tapes, which are on their way to ADA this week. I added some credits in these versions, for Tomoko, myself and Scott (as "second unit camera"), as well as an end title saying the entire convention DVD is available at www.aquatic-gardeners.org
Now Kathy and I were talking about this, and thinking "hmm, why would he be distributing an English translation of his presentation to his domestic Japanese customers?" Which made us wonder if they'll end up chopping my edit up even further and putting other stuff on top of it. On the other hand, I suspect that nobody has done a video like this of one of their demos. Who knows. In any case, I beleive they can do what they want with the footage, and I just hope they are kind enough to include the plug for the AGA.
