Whatabout suggesting that preliminary negotiations start
at the 12 month
mark in order to help the local organization put together
a workable bid by
9 or 10 months out?

AGA 2006 Convention
I wouldn't mind a year in advance except that I think it
will sharply limit the number of responses. Even though
GWAPA, who, e.g., knew well before AGA2k3 that it
wanted to
propose for AGA2K4, it was not able to get a formal
proposal together 12 months before AGA2K3.
I suggested about 10 months figuring we'd end up
allowing
slippage to about 8 months, if pressed.
Btw, wasn't there also a Canadian club that expressed
interest in hosting a convention in 2005?

Right now I'm getting geared up to start working on a
consortium of clubs,
CAAS, CAPE, and the local NANFA chapter for a possible
bid at a conference
in '07 or '08.
Best,
