My name is Cameron Spivey and I'm a new AGA member living in Decatur
(Atlanta) GA. I've followed the activities of the group through a couple of
friends for a year or so now. I was sorry to learn that there won't be a
gathering this year, but wanted to offer an idea for '06. Needless to say,
my friends here think it's a GREAT idea.
Atlanta will be opening their new aquarium ( www.georgiaaquarium.org )
in '06 and I thought it might be a nice place to host the event. I also
wondered if they might donate some space for lectures etc.? I have no idea
what's involved in putting something like that together...not easy I'm sure.
Might Seachem, located so close to ATL, be able to work with the GA
Aquarium to help sponsor, or at least leverage some free meeting space? I
don't know how close-knit the tank community is here. If I were Seachem, I'd
be very interested in the new aquarium, that's for sure. Other than that,
ATL has plenty of hotels and restaurants, and a very accessible airport.
Anyhoo- just a crazy idea from a new and enthusiastic member.
