Claus tells me that it also grows happily emersed in damp conditions, which
is why I tried propagating it on the windowsill.  That worked very nicely
all winter, and shortly before NEC, I had 3 containers nice and thick with
it.  The trouble is that as soon as the sun started heating up, I cooked it.
By a few days before NEC, I had 3 containers of green goo.

Interestingly, being lazy, I never cleaned the green goo out of the
containers, though I did move them out of the window.  Two of the containers
had Flourite in them, the third had soil capped with fine gravel.  The soil
container STILL is full of green goo... in both of the Flourite containers,
the Pellia has made a come-back.
