RE: [AGA Member] Re:Aquabotanic Aquascaping Contest--or Taking Notice of howthings Ad up

Yes, Robert, the AGA and Aquabotanic can coexist. However, I don't think that's what's really happening or your true agenda. If that were the case, then comments like, "There is life outside of the AGA Scott." wouldn't have been made. That was uncalled for and in poor taste.

There is getting word out and then there is spamming. I've been hit multiple times in multiple lists with the email. I wouldn't have such an issue with it if the "advertisement" were in the form of a email tag, but that's not the case here is it? I personally think that the contest is a great idea since it gets more and more interest in planted tanks. I just don't like seeing multiple advertisements in my email box with the same message. I also don't like personal attacks on people from competing organizations. That is detrimental to the hobby.

>>Not to mention that the fact that I mention at the foot of each of *my* emails the Return of Amano to demonstate his aquascpaing techniques at the AGA Annual Convention. That was the second irony. Am I the only one that sees irony in all this? <<

I think I see the irony of the kettle calling the kettle black...or
something like that. It's just a little hard to understand when Carlos has
only made a post here once before, and once on APD. It's just a friendly
little contest that people are working hard on to get the word out in a
friendly manner hopefully without being obtrusive. There is life outside
of the AGA Scott. It can coexist! It's not even about me. It's people like
Roger Miller, Jay Luto, Phil Anderson, Carlos, and Luis Navarro that are
making it happen. Somebody was going to ask Karen to print an announcement
in TAG.

And I would like to come to the convention this year. I also wish IT would
come to the Pacific Northwest! Common Erik! I am going to have to start
talking to the Portlanders in GPAS...but then again I can not even convince
them to hold their meetings on a Saturday! :)
