Ideally, I think we should be sending out requests for
proposals right about now inthe calendar year for the
following year's convention.  

Proposals would be reviewed just before or, more likely, 
after the convention, say before year end.  Early details
are set and we're ready for a formal anouncement by
Feb/March.  We almost slid into this kind of schedule for
AGA2K3 because of the early work that Larry and Erik did. 
We're a bit behind it for 2K4, at least in terms of a
formal process of sending out the prop & guidelines doc.

I'm just talking about Ideally here.  Just offering up the
the thoughts.  Assuming this and subsequent conventions
earn profits, I think this is a good time frame to cover
the procurement process and the planning and execution by
the host.
