Re: GWAPA Proposal -- AGA2K4 -- 1-4-2004 (fwd)

I think that's why Cheryl mentioned it after Christmas, when we saw the
draft.

I don't understand what you're saying there. They don't have to pay for the
ads in TAG... They just can't have two pages, or plan on getting the center
spread. One full page per issue is plenty.

Right, but that's my point TAG 17-3 (which should go out mid-August, while
many people are away on vacation) goes out too early to be "well into
convention season", IMO. My experience with years of organized hobby stuff
is that people tend not to start planning their fall until Labor Day. If
they feel differently, it's up to them.

Yes, that's fine. We just don't want them surprised if they under-estimate
because they've forgotten an important piece. If we remind them and they
decide against something, I guess they have to try and make it work out some
other way.

I agree.

That I'm not sure about. It depends where you are in ounces. If the
package is already close to the next level up, a page or two can definitely
tip it over into the next price range. And because we're (probably)
switching printers, we won't know for sure what the weight of the magazine
and new envelope as they stand now will weigh until after we send the first
one out.

Again, it's just something they need to think about. It may be that they
think they can get SO many local folks that the out-of-town already-AGA
members are just gravy. At VERY least, they should be planning on doing a
mass mailing to all NEC clubs as well as all the rest of the eastern
seaboard clubs. But this is few enough separate packages that someone in
the club could do it by hand.
