If you're asking me, I think doing it in Word is fine. I haven't had any trouble with the doc. I can load it in Word or Word perf or in my browser and I don't get anything that would be a formatting problem. Heaven help me if things go screwy later but that's the risk one takes with MS applications. Be sure to turn on TRACKING CHANGES, so we can keep track of the, well, changes and who made them. IT could get confusing down the road. Waiting is okay with me.
