I raise red wigglers also, and If I had to guess, I would say what you are seeing are baby red wigglers. I often throw egg yolks in my box and will get clumps of those white guys around the egg yolk. I feed them often and the fish love them. When the worms start climbing up to the top of the box -I think- it is indicative of an acid pH. The worms dont like this. If your water is basciic (like mine) you might really water the box to bring the pH back up. This has always worked for me when I start seeing the guys climbing out of the box, or up onto the lid. To bring it back on topic, I often feed these white guys and their slightly larger breatheren to my apistos, to no ill effect.
