Hi Alan. Have you been to Bolton and not dropped in to see me?
There's been other people on the list interested in these contaminants as
well, and I know someone who's lurking right now who has bought some (Hi
Ray).
My feeling is that these are probably meinkeni or something very similar.
This is only based on the fact that I've picked young Apistos out of
Dicrossus shipments before that looked just like these at this size and
they've always ended up as a meinkeni lookalikes with a relatively low
dorsal.
They are very pretty fish though, and they are fairly cheap for wild Apistos
these days, so whatever they turn out to be it'll have been worthwhile
(worth a look for anyone else in the area).
